Are You Not Entertained?

A 5-11 record in 2017. A new unproven head coach. A young QB with loads of pressure. A risky trade and a large contract for a defensive player. Stuck in a division with the likes of Aaron Rogers and newly signed Kirk Cousins. Funny, I haven't heard much of these factors lately regarding the Chicago Bears. Wonder why?

In an epic and potential NFC Championship showdown, Chicago showed its dominance against the Los Angeles Rams in a 15-6 final score. Chicago now stands at 9-4 while the Rams take their second loss of their season.

Oh man, there's so many things I could write about for this game. Figured it'd be easer to do a good, bad, and a fun (ugly just seemed too negative here, yanno?)

The Good: Bear's Defense

Talk about Monsters of the Midway! The Ram's offense looked absolutely dismal against the Bear's defense. Going into this game, the Rams were averaging 34.9 points, 439.9 total yards, 139.4 rushing yards, and only forking over 11 total takeaways. So how does arguably the best defense in the league respond? Allowing the Cali boys 6 points, 214 total yards with 52 rushing (oh ya, this team has Todd Gurley, btw) and 4 takeaways.

4 interceptions from 4 different guys was awesome to watch! That tallies the team to 25 on the season. They had 8 last year. EIGHT. The pressure was there for young gunslinger Goff, who was also sacked 3 times and let up a safety.

Fun fact: according to Roquan Smith's Instagram page, this was his first interception since high school. We see you #58!

What was really awesome to watch (and a bit frightening) was a post game Akiem Hicks. I'm convinced he might actually be part bear, and it's gonna take me a lot of convincing to say anything otherwise.

The Bad: Mitch Trubisky

Sigh. Poor #10. Two weeks due to injury and I'm sure he really wanted to get out there and strut his stuff. To be fair, both quarterbacks were pretty bad. But Goff isn't my QB, so there isn't as much sympathy for him.

Trubisky completed 16 of 30 passes, totaling in 110 yards, three interceptions and only one touchdown. The only touchdown of the whole game actually. His final passer rating was a 33.3. Yikes. Brush this one off and get ready for a revenge game against the non-playoff contending Packers (that felt SOOOOO good to write. SO. GOOD).

Hey, at least the one touchdown was to a big fella. "Santa's Sleigh", as Coach Nagy calls it, was a Christmas surprise.

The Fun: Club Dub

For those of you unaware of this, every time the Bears have won a game, there is a celebration in the lockeroom. As the team continues to win (and hopefully will), the celebration has gotten bigger and more players have gotten involved. Coach Nagy then addresses the team, keeping players hyped as he credits all sides of the ball in the victory. Lastly, he'll choose someone to break the team down.

You gotta watch it, words don't do it justice

The Bears are vibing right now. With a guaranteed winning season, the first since 2012, the potential to end the season 11-4, and hopes for a playoff bye in the picture, it has been an incredible football season for Chicago.

CHICAGO! DO YOU BELIEVE?
