I said I would do more music uploads when I uploaded the Freight the Band post, so today I'm writing about a famous rapper getting married. Close enough, right?
Chancelor Jonathan Bennett, known in the music world (and I guess the regular world, really) as Chance the Rapper, married longtime partner Kirsten Corley this past Saturday in Newport Beach, California, according to Page Six. The 25-year-old rapper had proposed to Kirsten back on July 4, 2018.
The two have actually been married officially for a few months, as they had a quiet ceremony in Chicago on Dec. 27, 2018. Still, the young couple still decided to make it more public and have another celebration of their matrimony.
In addition to the 150 guests present, in attendance was comedian Dave Chappelle as well as Kim Kardashian and Kayne West, some celebrity but also good friends to Chance. In one of Chance's Instagram upload today (which I will link), he was pictured with a couple unnamed friends, West, and gospel star Kirk Franklin.

Like I said, this isn't directly related to music, BUTTTT it's still a feel good story, and honestly it's a nice change of pace. We all need a story to make us smile every now and then. I also credit Chance for getting me into rap music in the first place with his mixtape Acid Rap, so any excuse to blog about him I'll take.
Speaking of music, Chance announced on Twitter that on Feb. 19 his debut album will be releasing July of 2019, according to RollingStone. Perhaps on the anniversary of his engagement? I'm just throwing that out there, but if people are listening to new Chance music while watching the fireworks, you heard it here first.
