Jim Boylen promotes Ryan Arcidiacono to Starting Point Guard

For a team that has a lot of issues they need to address this offseason, the Chicago Bulls will most likely look into the point guard situation for the team moving forward. For now, it seems head coach Jim Boylen has made his decision on who will start moving forward.

This move places Kris Dunn as the second point guard on the depth chart, alongside Shaquille Harrison and Antonio Blakeney. Arcidiacono taking over the point guard spot allows Zach Lavine to play in his more familiar position of shooting guard.

According to basketball references, Arcidiacono is averaging 6.2 points, 2.6 total rebounds, and 3.4 assists with a field goal percentage of 45%. Comparing that to Kris Dunn's 11.1 points, 4.0 total rebounds, and 5.9 assists averages on 43% shooting, it would seem that Dunn would be the smarter play.

Perhaps Coach Boylen wants Dunn to come off the bench to surge the secondary group, or perhaps it's Arcidiacono's hustle that has won him the job. I mean, just look at this play.

Whatever the reasoning, it'll be interesting to see if this is just to finish the season, or if Boylen is looking for his long term guy. Only time, and a few more games, will tell.
